Aberdeen, Mississippi
Located on the western banks of the Tombigbee River, Aberdeen is located in northeastern Mississippi. First settled in 1834, the city is the seat of Monroe County. The city was founded as a cotton port, along the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, which continues to provide shipping facilities for industries.
Adorned with a colorful past, magnificent architecture, arresting natural beauty, and Southern hospitality, Aberdeen beckons all visitors to soak in its free spirit and warmth. It is the county seat of Monroe County in the State of Mississippi. The Aberdeen Lock and Dam on the Tombigbee River is located on the eastern limits of the city. US Route 45 passes through Aberdeen.

Pay a visit to one of the finest antbellum homes in Mississippi, the Magnolias which was built in 1850s. In the month of spring every year, Aberdeen hosts pilgrimages to its historical antebellum homes. The Blue Buff Festival, celebrated here annually brings together a combination of arts, crafts, food, entertainment, etc.
