We always hear that our world is getting smaller and lines are blurring between languages, culture and boundaries. One of the surreal things enabling this is food. Food is doing its bit in making this world smaller and more joyous. Food is a big time joy-giver and it gives joy to both its maker and consumer. Food brings smiles across civilizations, genders and financial statuses. Food is a reason for a few to travel and food is what everyone is worried about when they travel. Mapsofworld’s travel module couldn’t have been complete without a few sub-sections on food, so we played along. We had tried something similar in Mapsofindia.com and we were sure that it is going to work here, too.
Format was important and it was essential what we were doing was understood and easy to replicate by others. We got going with our in-house food consultant and planned a series of 52 DIY recipes. Here the idea was that we cover the world and bring forward a format, which can add value whereever it is plugged in. Our first series is already over and now we are well into our second season. Week after week our chef worked on enriching this section and what a beautiful section, yes, beautiful section got created in the process. There is a lot of thought that goes into planning what recipes make it to our “World Recipe” section and that thought process includes replicating a few of these dishes ourselves and also encouraging people to do it for us. Another few recipes and we would start creating food trail maps around them, actually showing how this section contributed in making our world smaller. Here are the World recipes, which have made the cut so far.
