We had a huge challenge – how can you fit in all the flags on a single world map? We are far too many countries to fit in and be seen on a single World Map as and when viewed on a laptop or an iPad? We found a way. Let us show all the flags at the continent level and at stage two we can place them exactly where they belong. It was a difficult task to visualize, but it worked – World Map with Flags.
When we process information photographically, more than a few facts get accentuated. For instance, I had never known that the number of countries/ territories with flags are identical for South American Continent and Australia & Oceania as a continent – fifteen each. Yes, Australia and Oceania is home to 15 flags.
Having placed all the flags next to each continent, we went ahead staging for each continent. Suddenly the problem looked trifle too easy. That has been the beauty of Mapsofworld.com. Whenever we hit a roadblock, someone, somewhere brings entrepreneurship to the core. Someone else shows lightening speed and yet another scans the horizon for validation of the alternative approach and, bingo we have a quality solution to our perennial problem.
At times, the more your think you have achieved, the more opens up to you as a challenge. So, having resolved the placement issue another one started staring at us. The flags weren’t in proportion to their sizes. In other words, flags were not to the scale. Yes, we are talking about flags being to scale. Having discovered that we had not covered this ground, we have started working on it. Our target is that within next three months, we would have to-scale-maps of world flags. The day we make it live, we would celebrate – another idea, another innovation and flawless execution.
We must dream, we must achieve.
