The Shrine Auditorium is an important structure and in 1975 was designated as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. Apart from the Grammy Awards, Shrine Auditorium also hosts the Academy Awards, the American Music Awards and the Soul Train Music Awards. Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles has hosted four Grammy Award events.

However the most frequent venue in the city has been Radio City Music Hall in Midtown Manhattan, which has hosted 6 Grammy Awards events. The place has been the venue of the events from the years 1981 to 1998. Others are Madison Square Garden and Uris theater in Midtown Manhattan, which have hosted four and one events each. Meanwhile, Tennessee Theater in Nashville has hosted one event.
