California has the most congressional districts in the United States at 53. Each district is created based on the population size of the latest recorded Census.

Each district in the country sends one representative to the House of Representatives; California has the most representatives in the House – 53. Of these, 39 are from the Democratic Party and the remaining 14 from the Republican Party.

The United States is divided into 435 Congressional districts. Each district votes to elect and send one representative to the House of Representatives. And so, the House of Representatives comprises 435 elected members, all of whom have voting rights. Since 1911, this number has remained fixed by law. The five inhabited U.S. territories and the federal district of Washington D.C., send one non-voting representative to the House. Each representative serves a two-year term.
