The United States is a vast nation comprising 50 states and a federal district, apart from self-governing territories and possessions. State with the Most Presidents
As of 2024, Virginia holds the lead as the birthplace of eight U.S. presidents, notably including the nation’s first president, George Washington, who was in office from 1789 to 1797. Woodrow Wilson is the only President of the 20th century who was born in Virginia. Interestingly, four of the first five presidents hailed from Virginia, highlighting its early political influence.
