Las Salinas de Torrevieja is one of the most amazing natural wonders of Spain. Located in the autonomous community of Valencia, Las Salinas de Torrevieja is spread over an area of 1400 hectares. As it was once a salt mining facility, visitors can today see huge mountains of salt along the Lake’s shore. Among its most visited species are the flamingos and it has been estimated that in the breeding season more than 2000 of them can be witnessed in the region. Other than the flamingos, one can also catch a glimpse of other species like stilts, terns, necked grebes, among others. It is truly a spectacular paradise for tourists.
