5/5 - (2 votes)

Yes. Russian officials have declared that soon 404-meter-tall (1,325 feet) skyscraper will be built in the Moscow city by Sergey Skuratov Architects. Set to open in 2024, the height of the tower will surpass the height of Federation Tower, which is currently the tallest building in the region, at 373 meters (1,226 ft). It will also be the second tallest building of Europe. The tower is yet to be un-named, and the dimension comes under The Moscow International Business Centre (MIBC) project. The project aims to create a new business district within the city.

The design of the enormous building is in the shape of trapezoid which will be 30 meters (98 ft). Imagine how perfect the location would be, as the building faces the Moskva River. The skyscraper is built to sustain two major volumes. The lower section of the building would host office, shopping center, restaurants and other commercial facilities. It would be 12-story structure, covering 104 ft. The upper section, which takes more than half of the building would offer residential facilities till the 104th floor. Not just that, an observation deck and helipad would be featured on the top of the building as well.
The design will be completed by November 2018, and its construction is planned to begin in 2019. Moscow – the Russian capital already has some of the tallest buildings in Europe. The Federation tower is currently the tallest in Europe, but Lakhta Center of St. Petersburg, having a height of 1,516 feet (462 meters), will replace the position once its complete in 2019. Some of the other ‘super-tall’ buildings in Moscow city sustaining a height more than 1,000 ft are OKO- South Tower, NEVA TOWERS 2, Mercury City Tower and Stalnaya Vershina (Eurasia building).

In the modern world, skyscrapers are a lot more than structures built with glass and steel. They symbolize cultural production and prosperity of a country. Countries boast their expediency and ambition, as these high-rises are built with combined innovation and wealth, while utilizing the talent of some of the brilliant architects. The surge in the towers in the 20th century, is a tribute to modern technology and innovation that has changed the skylines of countries around the world.
