  • Thailand – $41.7 billion
  • Australia – $36.8 billion

Food is the most important commodity that is essential for sustaining all forms of life. Thus, the agriculture sector is a significant industry and each nation aims at increasing its agricultural output. However, the agricultural production in a particular nation depends on many factors such as climate, related vegetation and the economy of the nation. Some nations produce a surplus of agricultural products and thus are in a position to export it to other nations. While other nations, due to varied factors, have to rely on imports from other nations. Though not a single nation, but the European Union tops the list. In 2015, the European Union exported agricultural items worth 585 billion dollars. Among the list of the 10 countries by agricultural exports, the United States of America occupied the first position. In the year 2015, the US exported agricultural items worth 163 billion dollars. The South American nation of Brazil was at the second spot with 80 billion dollars worth of agricultural items exported. While China, the leading producer of wheat and ramie, was at the third spot, Canada occupied the fourth. The other nations among the list of world’s top 10 agricultural exporters were Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, India and Argentina.
