Cojedes is situated in the west central part of Venezuela. San Carlos is the capital of this Venezuelan State. Cojedes state in Venezuela is bound by Carabobo, Yaracuy and Lara to the north, Guarico state in the east, Barinas state in the south and Portuguese state in the west. Many states of Cojedes are based in the Level one regions.
According to the Census of 2001, the total population of the state was 2,53,000 people. The main cities of Cojedes State in Venezuela are Tinaco, Trunk, Tinaquillo, Pao and San Carlos.
Agriculture and cattle rearing are the two main economic activities of the people residing in this state. Some of the important agricultural products are tobacco, rice and sorghum. In Trunk some granite deposits are also found. Business activities have mainly developed in San Carlos and Tinaquillo because of the development of highway.
