Tashkent Viloyati



Tashkent Viloyati is a province in the country of Uzbekistan. In Uzbek, “Viloyati” means province. Tashkent Viloyati is in the northeastern part of Uzbekistan.

The Tashkent province is located between the Syr Darya River and the Tien Shan mountains. This beautiful location of Tashkent Viloyati makes the province a popular tourist spot in Uzbekistan. The countries like Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan with the Sirdaryo province of Uzbekistan surrounds this beautiful province.

In English, “Tashkent” stands for the “Stone City”. This province is the capital of Uzbekistan. This is one of the ancient cities in the central Asia. This city was also used as a significant caravan crossroad on the Silk Route. The history of Tashkent Viloyati dates back to 5th century BC. This place was well known for its horses, gold precious stone and cattle. Genghis Khan destroyed the city in 1219. In the mid 1960s, the city suffered a serious setback due to a devastating earthquake. But soon it regained its lost pride and in 1991, Tashkent became the fourth largest city in the country.
