Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque



Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque is one of the most important tourist destinations in Gibraltar. A large number of tourists visit this mosque every year. The Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque of Gibraltar is also known by the names of King Fahd bin Abdulaziz al-Saud Mosque and the Mosque of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque at Gibraltar is located at Europa Point, a place in the southern part of Gibraltar. The construction of this mosque in Gibraltar took around 2 years. The inauguration of the mosque finally took place on 8th August 1997.

The building of the Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque in Gibraltar was indeed a kind of gift from the king of Saudi Arabia named Fahd. It has been estimated that around five million pounds were expended in the construction of the mosque. About an approximate 7% of the population in Gibraltar are Muslims. They pay a regular visit to the Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque to offer their prayers.

The Ibrahim-al-Ibrahim Mosque is white in color and has got a very spacious complex. The complex of the mosque has got a library, a lecture hall as well as a school. One must include this site in their sightseeing list while in Gibraltar.
