The bustling city of Dubai is visited by lakhs of tourists every year. The city is spread along both the banks of the Creek and can be divided into two parts: on the northern side lies Deira and on the south is the Bur Dubai.

Both the parts of the city has hospitals, fine mosques, apartments, crowded souks, hotels, public buildings, schools, shopping malls, office towers, banks and villas. In 1973, Dubai became a part of Emirates and adopted the UAE dirham as its currency.

Dubai is gifted with immense natural beauty like the golden sunshine, clear blue waters and silvery beaches. The city has all type of modern facilities like world-class hotels, spas, shopping arcades, golf facilities and an upcoming Sports City and many more. Arabic is the official language of Dubai, but English and Urdu are also spoken by the people, along with Malayalam, Tagalog, Hindi, Persian and Punjabi.

The population of Dubai was recorded to be 971,000, in 2001. Nearly 71% of the population are men and 29% is women. The city has a highly cosmopolitan environment and inhabited by Europeans, Asians, people of UAE and other Arab nationals.
