Arena Pantanal :

Arena Pantanal is located in Cuiabá, the capital of Mato Grosso state in Brazil. It is located in the ecologically vibrant region of the Pantanal. While building this stadium, one of the major issues was sustainable development of the project so that the rich variety of flora and fauna don’t get affected. This is the reason why the quality of soil and air are monitored constantly. In fact, the lush green surroundings have given the stadium its nickname ‘The Big Green’ or ‘O Verdão’.

This stadium is coming up on the spot where an older stadium Estadio Jose Fragelli was located. The capacity of Arena Pantanal will be 43,000. It has adaptable structure, which can be adjusted. Mobile bleachers are there for 17,000 people. Removable covers and bleachers are made up of steel, which are essentially bolted. In fact, some of the aspects of this stadium will be removed after the completion of FIFA World Cup 2014. Approximately US$ 1.5 billion is going to be invested in Cuiaba for developing world-class infrastructure for the FIFA World Cup.
