Romania Medieval Towns



Romania Medieval Towns include Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara. They still preserve the architectural treasures which were built long time ago. The medieval castles, citadels and fortresses draw many tourists to this place. There are still ancient tiny houses that lie in a line in the narrow streets. There are cobble stoned passageways and covered stone steps. Romania Medieval Towns also possess some tiny shops which have a collection of rare antiques and hand made products of artisans and artists.

Brasov

Brasov in Central Romania is enriched with some of the best Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture, towers and churches. Black Church is the largest Gothic Church in Romania.

Sibiu

The old towns of Sibiu still have the grandeur of the olden days. Placed in Central Romania, it was the largest and wealthiest of the seven walled citadels built around 12th century by German settlers. Sections of Medieval walls guard the place where narrow streets pass steep roofed 17th Century buildings with gable over hangs. It then opens into vast Church dominated Squares giving a distinct German feeling. Upper town of the place has most of the famous Historical sights like Great Square, Huet Square, and sand Goldsmiths’ Square.

Sighisoara

Sighisoara exudes German architectural influence throughout. Famous attractions include Clock Tower of 14th Century.,Guild Tower, Venetian House, Vlad the Impaler (Dracula) House, etc
