Prahova



Prahova is a small county in the south-central region of Romania. The county has its capital at Ploiesti and is located in a historical region of Romania, namely Muntenia.

Spread over an area of 4,716 square kilometers, the county is encompassed by several exotic landscape features.

There are high mountains, valleys, and plains in Prahova County in Romania. The Eastern Carpathians and the Bucegi Mountains are an integral part of the landscape features in the county. The Prahova River Valley is another amazing natural feature in the Romanian county of Prahova. The Prahova River is the main river in the area, which flows through the Valley and joins the other rivers in the country.

Prahova has mainly developed as a center of oil reserve in Romania. The oil and petroleum industry is highly advanced and developed in this particular Romanian county. The industry also deals with oil extraction and oil refining. Almost half of the county’s income is dependent on this oil and petroleum industry. Many renowned multinational companies of the world have made huge investments in the oil industry of Prahova, Romania.

Apart from this, there are several other industries that have developed in this county. Some of the industries include the rubber industry, textile industry, mechanical components industry, chemical industry, food, and beverages industry, and many more. Agriculture is also well developed in the county. Tourism in Prahova is mainly concentrated in the Prahova Valley, with many resorts and hotels amidst immense natural beauty.
