Buzau



Buzau city is located on the banks of the river Buzau and between the Baragan Plain and the Carpathian mountains. In the middle ages, the county of Buzau evolved and was mainly known as a cultural and commercial center.

Buzau city is the capital of the County of Buzau. The population of Buzau is 133,127.

The most significant milestone of the city is Communal Palace which was built between the years 1899 and 1903. At present, the Palace serves as the City Hall. The airport nearest to the city of Buzau is the Henri Coanda International Airport situated in Otopeni. Buzau is a significant railway center that connects Ploiesti and Bucharest to Constanta and Foscani. The Railway station of the city was inaugurated in the year 1872.

The city of Buzau is modern and the old and historical buildings are now very few in number. The Cring Forest the area which is on the southern side of the city is the major source of greenery for the city of Buzau. This forest is also visited by tourists often. Tourists can enjoy the beauty of a lake situated near the forest where they can do boating and visit an island having a cafe under the trees and enjoy the scenic beauty of the place.

The most important enlightening milestone of the city is the Bogdan Hasdeu High School, which was inaugurated in the year 1867. The public library of Buzau was opened in the year 1893. The culture in the city of Buzau is very organized and rich. People of the place are fascinated by theatres, and songs and remain much enriched with conventional values.
