Sierpc

As a Polish “powiat” or county, Sierpc was established in the ancient period, as early as the 10th century B.C. It is perhaps one of the oldest parts of Poland, situated on 52°53’N latitude and 19°40’E longitude.

Sierpc is located in the Mazowsze Voivodship, some 115 kilometers northwest of the Polish capital of Warsaw.

Sierpc, the Polish county is also the main town area, where as many as 54,059 inhabitants reside. The total land area covered by this county is 852.89 km².

Though small in terms of the geographical area, Sierpc has an individual entity of its own, having a national flag and coat of arms as national identifications. The government and administration of the region are municipal in nature with the Mayor as the head of the corporation. More or less, the political scenario of Sierpc is one of peace and harmony with a stable government to rule the region efficiently.

Being the capital of Sierpc County, the town area of Sierpc is inhabited by 18,872 people with 1,009 heads occupying every kilometer square of the land. Considering the total land area of Sierpc, it seems that it is a moderately populated region of Poland.

The picturesque surroundings of Poland are visible sufficiently in Sierpc, making it one of the most popular tourist destinations on the Polish mainland. Four major seasons, namely summer, monsoon, winter, and spring are distinctly found here, making the weather pleasantly cool and enjoyable all around the year, and the environment colorful for popular appeal.
