North Korea, officially called as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, is an east Asian country that constitutes the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. Pyongyang is the capital of North Korea and also its largest city. North Korea shares its border in the north and northwest with China and Russia along the Amnok (known as the Yalu in China) and Tumen rivers. To its south, the country shares its border with South Korea. The Yellow Sea and Korea Bay form the west coast of the country and on it’s eastern side is Japan, situated across the Sea of Japan.
