The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is situated adjoining the borderline of three major states especially with China adjacent to the Yalu River, Russia along the Tumen River and South Korea near to DMZ.
The Yellow sea and the Korea Bay cover the region from the western coast and the Sea of Japan cover from the eastern coast region. The terrains are consistent with low-lying mountains divided by the narrow valley, where a small portion is used for cultivation purpose. The eastern side is filled with Rocky Mountains ascending from the water level, which carry some of the major waterways.

The Democratic People’s Republic Of Korea is an East Asian country nestled on the Korean peninsula especially on the northern half while sharing borders with People’s Republic of China. Rainfall hits the region during the months of June to September while spring and autumn is impacted with mild temperature.
Flora And Fauna of North Korea
The Native flowers of North Korea that are found here are Forsythia koreana Nakai, Rhododendron mucronulatum Turcz, Lonicera praeflorens Batalin, Fraxinus ryhnchophylla Hance and many others that blossom during the spring time.
North Korea is a home to cold temperate plants nestled on high mountains like Mt. Soraks. One get to see needle-leaved trees like Abies nephrolepis Maxim, Larix olegensis Henry var. koreana Nakai, Thuja koraiensis Nakai, Picea jezoensis and many others.
Animals that habitat here are bat, shrew, striped hamster, muskrat, tiger, lynx, two species of deer, Manchurian weasel, and northern pika which are specifically nestled in Mt. Paektusan in North Korea.
The other endangered species of the region are Kuroda’s Sheldrake, Siberian Tiger, Magpie, Red Fox or Common Fox that are specific to the region.
People of North Korea
The population of North Korea is subjected to diverse ethnic groups that are racially consistent with a minor portion of Chinese community and ethnic Japanese community thriving here. The people of this region have faith in religion like Confucianism, Daoism, and Buddhism.
The traditional dress of this region is hanbok while the native hat is called as gwanmo. The traditional food which the local people have are ssambap , bulgogi , sinseollo , kimchi , bibimbap and gujeolpan .
Arts, Culture and Music of North Korea
Art: The art and architecture of North Korea is influenced on the diverse cultural expression of the region, which is influenced by three major themes. One being the struggle against the revolutionary fight by martyr as seen in the masterwork of The Sea of Blood, the second being the restored happiness of the current society, and the third being the genius intellect of great leaders. The architecture of North Korea can be seen through its monuments, traditional motif architect and modern high-rise buildings.
Culture: One should go through the juche literature of atistic poems written by Kim Il Sung during the anti-Japanese movement. To name some of its work are The Flower Girl, The Sea of Blood, The Fate of a Self-Defense Corps Man, and The Song of Korea. Participate in the Spring Friendship Art Festival celebrated during the month of April, that honours great leaders of the region with love and respect. The place is recognised for its mass games where several choreographed dances and gymnastics are showcased. Motion pictures are widely popular in this region which is kept to educate the general masses with social happenings and informations.
Music: Revolutionary operas recognised as ch’angguk, is quite poular in North Korea. The fairy tales are conceptualised into musical themes in North Korea.
Hymns like Song of General Kim Il Sung, Long Life and Good Health to the Leader, and We Sing of His Benevolent Love are sung to honour the leaders of the region. One would surely come across with the tunes of Ten Million Human Bombs for Kim Il Sung that is sunf each morning here. The traditional music of this region is Jeongak and Minsogak.
Economy of North Korea
The economic growth of North Korea mainly depends on heavy military industry and Publicly owned industry that produces manufactured items.
The main industries that thrive in this region are machine building, electric power, chemicals; mining of coal, graphite, copper, zinc, lead, iron ore, magnesite, and valuable metals, metallurgy; textiles, food processing and tourism.
Agriculture has a small percentage to the country’s revenue income with production of rice, corn, potatoes, soybeans, beans, cattle, pork and eggs.
The commodities that are exported to different regions are minerals, metallurgical products, manufactures, agricultural and fishery products.
The goods that are imported to North Korea are petroleum, coking coal , machinery, consumer goods and grains.
