Kocani



Kocani, which is also known as the “Town of Rice”, is situated at a height of around 1095 ft. above sea level. The popular town is located in the eastern part of Macedonia and is just 120 kilometers away from Skopje.

Kochani river flows across this renowned town. The city of Kocani at Macedonia enjoys a mild-continental type Mediterranean climate.

The town of Kocani in Macedonia is bounded by the town of Orizari in the east, Beli in the west, Podlog, Pribacevo and Grdovci in the south and Pripor and Crvena Niva in the north. Mount Plackovica is located just 8 kilometers away from Kocani.

Kocani of Macedonia is located at a very important crossroad where major roads merge. The roads from Kocani to Veles and Stip along with the highway route of Skopje to Gevgelija meet here. Apart from the general road, a rail road is also under operation that provides transport service from Kocani to Skopje, Stipa dn Veles.

The main occupation of people of Kocani is agriculture. Rice is the main agricultural product. The city also hosts a geothermal water body, the water of which consists of medicinal values which helps in curing numerous diseases. A health spa is rum along side this water body.
