Luxembourg Police



Luxembourg Police is also popular as the Grand Ducal Police and is the primary law enforcement agency in the only Grand Duchy of the World. The Luxembourg Police works under the Luxembourgian Minister for Justice. The Luxembourg Police, along with the Minister for Justice, however is basically controlled by the Grand Duke. The police of Luxembourg came into existence on 1st of January, 2000 after the Luxembourg Gerdarmerie got merged with the Luxembourgian Police.

The major areas of work of the Luxembourg Police include securing the internal conditions of the state, enforcing all kinds of law and the Grand Ducal Decrees as well as helping out the Luxembourgian military in the various internal affairs. All these activities however take place only after the permission of the Grand Duke.

The regional head-quarters of the police in Luxembourg are based at Diekirch, Capellen, Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg City, Grevenmacher, and Mersch. Various operations are carried out by the police of Luxembourg in the six different regions that are distributed by the regional director. The regional director looks after the primary intervention centers, the secondary intervention centers, the different local police stations as well as the region-wide services. The Luxembourg Police makes the life safe in the country. The tourists can feel safe to roam around the country owing to the smart services of the Luxembourg police.
