The American School of Kuwait was founded in the year 1964 with an aim of providing American curriculum to the students of Kuwait. This was done with an aim of preparing them for higher education in the American universities. The American School of Kuwait is the result of a joint effort of both the American and the Kuwait citizens.
Presently there are around 1,385 pupils studying at the American School of Kuwait. The school is located on a sprawling campus in the outskirts of Kuwait. There are 102 classrooms, 32 laboratories, two huge libraries, two gymnasiums an indoor semi-Olympic swimming pool and many others.
Classes from kindergarten to standard 12 are taken care of in these schools. The classes begin in the month of September and end in the month of June of the following year, in accordance to the American curriculum.
Besides regular classes, the students are encouraged to participate in extra curricular activities like cultural programs, games and sports and fine arts. Apart from the normal American curriculum in Kuwait and extracurricular activities, following are the other programs in the American School of Kuwait:

Instruments and choral music are also involved in the curriculum of the American School of Kuwait.
