Remarkable structures include the Romanesque-Gothic cathedral built in the 13th century, the Basilica of San Saturnino of 5th century A.D., a big Roman amphitheater, and the huge tower of St. Pancras constructed by Pisans in 1304. Rock forts are big in numbers at Cagliari. Cagliari Italy has been a big inspiration to notable poets and authors.
