Economy Of Hungary

The economy of Hungary was quite dependable on the sectors of agriculture and small-scale manufacturing units just before the World War II period. Hungary is strategically located in Europe where the region mainly depends on the enduring foreign trade due to the lack of natural resources within the province.

It was during the beginning of 1950, the communist government brought about lot of additions within the industrial sector of the region thereby making the province self-reliant. But it was during the year 1968; a new policy was issued where Hungary was opened to the foreign trade market with restricted functioning of small businesses.

Due to the advanced economy led by the former Eastern bloc, the sectors of agriculture and industry suffered considerably while raising the net foreign debt extensively because of the loss making by the state enterprise groups along with consumer financial support.

It was during the period of economic stagnation, Hungary ventured along with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank and came up with a two-tier banking system. It was during the year 1990-94 there was a change in the market policy where price and trade was issued freely along with a refurbished tax systems and a promising banking system.

But during the year 1994, with the slash in the consumer grant, extravagance spending took place in the government due to which there was a raise in the price factors of commodities, food, transport and energy. Due to which there was a major setback in the export made to the Soviet Bloc along with the decline in the trading output. By March 1995, the government undertook aggressive policies to privatize state owned enterprises and an exchange raw regime was led for encouraging export from the country that reduced the in debt and deficits, the country was going through.

The country gains its revenue mainly from the private sector, and the rest from the foreign owners, financial organization, industry, telecommunication and trading regions. Now the government concentrates more on fully supported pensions, higher education, and the formation of the national treasury. The government seems to implement a reduction in the fiscal discrepancy and inflation rate within the economy apart from maintaining a planned tax system, fitness care, and administration finance.

The commodities that are imported within the region are machinery and equipment, manufactures goods, fuel, electricity, food products, raw materials.
