Rhine Valley, Germany



The Rhine Valley is situated between Mainz and Bonn. The Rhine cuts the Valley of Rhine through the Slate Mountains between Bingen and Koblenz.

Rhine River is about 1,320 kilometers long. Its origin is in Switzerland and ends in the North Sea. This area is a part of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley UNESCO world heritage site.

One will come across a number of castles in the Rhine Valley, Germany. This valley is narrow in shape. There is an open-air theater known as Loreley. It organizes several events. The German Rhine Valley has a historical significance as this place has been the witness to a number of medieval age battles.

The Rhine Valley of Germany is covered with vineyards. Siebengebirge hills with their dense wooded tracts are the smallest nature reserve in Germany (GermanDeutschlandkarte). These hills have got round peaks and are conical in shape. To explore the stupendous beauty of the Rhine Valley one can either walk or cycle. Besides, a boat ride is another good option available to unravel the wonder of the valley. One can also be a part of the Rhine in Flames event that takes place every year. This festival draws innumerable tourists to the place.
