Chlumec nad Cidlinou



Chlumec nad Cidlinou is beautiful town of the Czech Republic in the geographical latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere. Chlumec nad Cidlinou is the town of Klicpera which has the population of nearly 5,500.

The town is located on a major road which connects Prague and Hradec Kralove. It lies nearly 30 km to the west of Hradec Kralove. The town of Chlumec nad Cidlinou is famous for beautifully laid gardens and ponds and the rebellion of farmers which was defeated. One of the architectural treasures of the town is the historical baroque castle Karlova Koruna (Charles’s Crown). In the second half of the 18th century, the rebellion of Bohemian farmers ended in this castle.

Chlumec nad Cidlinou has immense scope to emerge as a tourist destination with a number of interesting places to visit. Some of the other tourist places in the town like Church of St. Vorsila, a gothic-renaissance Parish and the baroque Marian column built during 1710. The Town Museum which is in the Loreto chapel is another important place to visit. The Town Museum was in the beginning a school and dormitory of Catholic Church involved in teaching. There is an education trail known as “The Town in Gardens” for the tourists to explore the important places of Chlumec.
