Jiangsu is situated in the eastern province of China with a coast line of 1000 kilometers. Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal are the two important water bodies of this place.

Han, Hui, Manchu and other racial groups constitute its population. Shandong Province, Anhui Province, Shanghai Municipality and Zhejiang Province are its neighbors.

It has an annual temperature of 13 C to 16 C.It experiences cold winters and hot summers. The rainfall is heavy in summer so visiting the place in spring and autumn is the best idea.

Places to visit : 

Nanjing, being one of the ancient capitals is also the governmental heart of Jiangsu. It is located in the lower region of the Yangtze River. The Yangtze River Bridge is an important tourist destination. The Mausoleum of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the tomb of Dr. Sun Yat-sen is also apart of the tourist destination. Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum which is the tomb of Zhu Yuan Zhang attracts tourists’. The Qinhuai River, Yu Hua Tai and Qixia Scenic Spot attracts tourists from all over China and abroad.

Suzhou is the famous garden city of Jiangsu Province. It has important cotton, silk and wool industries. The Humble Administrator’s Garden is famous for Chinese ink-and-wash paintings. It is not a garden of flowers but paintings. The Lingering Garden is also a famous garden. The river boats offer tours to the tourists. Suzhou Opera and Suzhou embroidery are world famous.

Wuxi is also known as “homeland of fish and rice”. Taihu Lake which is the third largest fresh water lake is located here. Apart from these places Jiangsu has a number of tourist places.

It is recommended not to travel to Jiangsu in summer due to the extreme temperatures.
