Born on October 27th, 1915, Philip W. Arnold Sr. is one of the legendary map makers of all time. Philip W. Arnold Sr. cleared his high school exams in 1933 and joined the Washington University to study mechanical engineering. He developed interest in map making during his University days.
During the 2nd World War, Philip W. Arnold Sr worked as an equipment designer for ships at Vancouver’s Kaiser Shipyard. Soon after the war, he started working as an engineer of the city. His thorough knowledge of Vancouver helped him to chalk out his first map – The Map of Vancouver in 1950.
There was no looking back after that and soon Philip W. Arnold Sr and his company – Arnold Map Service became famous in the world of cartography. Along with his son Philip W. Arnold Jr., he is still looking after his business.
