Popularly referred to as the summer capital of Bulgaria, Varna, is the biggest city on the Black Sea Coast of Bulgaria. Having a population of about 356,000 it ranks after the cities Sofia and Plovdiv.
The city is the main center of the Bulgarian Navy and has become one of the important tourist destinations of the country. The city, Varna was considered to be an Ottoman city because of its wooden houses symbolizing a typical architecture. The winding alleys and the narrow lanes are characteristic of Ottoman style of architecture.

Lying north-east of Sofia, Varna has a well developed transport system. The transit system of the city is elaborate and with the Varna International Airport, Central Train Station and Port of Varna.
