Allada, Benin is also famous for being the cradle of the Voodoo religion. Religion came into being in the thirteenth century. It was initiated in the thirteenth century by Adjahounto, founder of Allada and the ancestor of the kings of Allada. Allada in Benin is also regarded as the pioneer in establishing diplomatic relations with western countries.

Palais Royal d’Allada

Palais Royal d’Allada is a majestic and magnificent palace in Benin. The annual festival of Voodoo is celebrated here with great pomp and splendor on Allada on the 9th of January, in remembrance of Adjahounto. Visiting the palace is surely going to enrich the visitors about the culture and tradition of the place.

Place Toussaint

Place Toussaint is another attraction of the city where there is a grand celebration on the 7th of April remembering the death of Toussaint Louverture.
