Mt Selinda is a small village that is located at the top of a mountain in the south-east side of Zimbabwe. Village Mt Selinda falls under the district of Chipinge, which is known for its coffee orchards. Mt Selinda is also known to be a mission station, which was founded by the Eastern Central African Mission in the year 1892. In the 19th century Emory Alvord went to the village in order to educate the locals about latest methods of farming.
Mt. Selinda Mission is a beautiful village in Zimbabwe and the central attraction of Mt. Selinda is its reserve forest known as Chirinda. Chirinda forest is one of the most beautiful and breath-taking tropical reserves which is populated with dense vegetation and long trees. Some of the tallest trees are found in the forest of Chirinda. Mt. Selinda is one of the ideal places to go for a picnic with family or friends. Not only that the village abounds in all kinds of natural vegetation and birds of different kinds can be usually seen flocking in and around the village of Mt Selinda. This is a place where bird-watching can be done to the best and birds like White Eared Barbet, Livingstone's Turaco, Black fronted Bush Shrike are some of the species that inhabit the place.
