Malaria spreads rapidly in moist weather. Zimbabwean climate is mostly moist and that is why the percentage of effected people by
malaria in Zimbabwe is comparatively more than other African countries. Moist climate does not means that malaria can take effect in rainy season. Malaria causes from the biting of a special kind of mosquito- Anopheles that breeds in moist areas but not in flowing water. That is why the malaria mosquito are ineffective in the rain.
Malaria in African countries are more effective because the climate of the place is moist and humid and the malaria mosquitoes get effective in such places. Along with the dwellers of Africa, the tourists and the new ones to African regions are specially needed to take precautions regarding the disease. The necessary steps for taking
precautions for malaria are:
- Taking anti-malarial medicines in regular intervals.
- Hygiene maintenance.
- Use of pesticides and other such medicines in order to kill the malaria mosquitoes.
- Use of anti-mosquito lotions, when going outside.
- Regular visits to clinics.
There are some signs and
symptoms of malaria. They are, headache, cough and cold, body-ache, vomiting tendency, high fever and diarrhea. If someone feels these symptoms then he or she must visit the doctor to get proper treatment.
Malaria in Zimbabwe is a major reason of high death rate. The government and other health departments are working a lot in order to ensure eradication of malaria in Zimbabwe.
