Zimbabwe AIDS is seen as an epidemic curbing the country's economic growth. AIDS in Zimbabwe has increased the mortality rate in Zimbabwe. Early deaths due to AIDS have become the part and parcel of Zimbabwean life.
Zimbabwe ranks second in the world in AIDS infected population. The disease is spreading fast in Zimbabwe due to a mixture of cultural, social and economic factors. Moreover remedial steps are far behind. The necessary drugs to curb Zimbabwe aids are also beyond reach. AIDS in Zimbabwe have become a social issue and various organizations have come up to fight AIDS, which is a crucial Zimbabwe health problem.
Zimbabwe AIDS Network is non profit making organization, which encompasses various non- governmental organizations under it. Zimbabwe AIDS Network was established in the year 1992. ZAN has four hundred non- governmental organizations membership under it.
Though AIDS is a curable disease in today's world, yet in Zimbabwe AIDS is feared as a demon engulfing thousands and thousands of lives to satisfy its hunger. But no relief is reaching Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is not receiving any relief as such to fight the deadly demon.
Zimbabwe is undergoing a political and social crisis at the present juncture. Due to the alarming mortality rate Zimbabwe is finding it difficult to cope with its economy greatly affected by the AIDS.
