Zaire Travel Guide

The Democratic Republic of Congo or Zaire is still a gorge of mystery. The violent and dangerous land of Zaire is still a matchless beauty with its lush green vegetation. Zaire Travel Guide is highly esteemed by the adventurous travelers who consider the tour to Zaire as mind-blowing.

Except the high altitude areas, most of the country is hot throughout the year. The average temperature of Zaire remains 30°C (86°F) during the day, with cooler nights. Rainfall is heavy in the interiors of the country. A dry period is between June and September. This period is the best time to visit Zaire. The tourist destinations in Zaire include:
  • Goma - Goma is a base camp by the United Nations and other NGO's dealing with the tribes of Zaire and war casualties.
  • Kinshasa - Kinshasa is the huge, populous capital city of Zaire, reflecting the essence of African life.
  • Chutes de Lukia - A must-see while the visit to Kinshasa, a great restaurant surrounded by natural lakes to swim and a Bonobo orphanage, where the tourists can meet and play with the pygmy children.
  • Kinkole Fish Market - This fish market was personally constructed by President Mobutu to honor the country's fishermen. The tourists can explore the Congo basin by navigating through the streams and rapids flowing by.
  • Kisanto Botanical Gardens – This garden is best known for its collection of 100-year-old trees and medicinal herbs.
The Kinshasa's N'djili Airport operates domestic and chartered flights connecting the country with all the major destinations of the world. Kenya Airways and SN Brussels Airlines are the major airline operators in this region. Ferries, cars and domestic flights connect every city of Zaire. Travel to Zaire remains incomplete if the depths of the forests inhabited with unique tribal groups and rare wildlife species are not explored by the tourists. Proper protection and caution statements should be the first priority before entering these rain forests.

Many groups of adventurous tourists, authors, colonialists, documentary makers and explorers have navigated these rivers to explore the dense, dark forests. Zaire Travel Guide shall facilitate the traveler's stay in the country and organize the tour comfortably and conveniently.
