University education in Yemen begins after the completion of secondary school education and continues for a period of 4 years. During admission, University Yemen requires the Al Thanawiya, which is the certificate awarded to students on clearing the secondary school examinations. Queen ARWA University is another recognized university in Yemen. It was founded in 1996 and approved by the Ministry of Education as well as the Council of Higher Education. In the year 1995, the first college known as the College of Technical Sciences was set up under this university.
