United Arab Emirates industries are some of the main sources of economy for the Federation. There is a wide variety of United Arab Emirates industries . The manufacturing industries of UAE have developed due to a number of facilities like favorable tax laws, low labor costs, excellent facilities and political stability.
The important UAE industries are cement, aluminum, building materials, fertilizer, furniture, foodstuff, plastic, garment, fiberglass and processed metal industries. The cement industry of UAE is a very old industry and Ras Al Khaimah is the main producer. Other cement factories are located in Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, Al Ain, and Umm al-Qaiwain.
The oil and gas industry of UAE contributes to the Government revenues. The largest producer of oil in the UAE is Abu Dhabi.
The chemical fertilizer industry of UAE began to grow with the formation of ADNOC or Abu Dhabi National Oil Company of FERTIL or Ruwais Fertilizer Industries. Many prospering fertilizer factories are situated in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.
DUBAL or the Dubai Aluminium Company was set up in 1975 at Jebel Ali. It is owned and managed by the Dubai Government and is responsible for providing 50 % of non-oil related revenues and 12 % of Dubai's GDP.
The pharmaceutical industry of UAE is crucial not only for UAE but serves the Arab and Gulf markets as well.
