The Togo Parliament has a strong tradition behind it and its origin can be traced even prior to the country's independence that was achieved in 1960. It was after the World War 2 got over, that Togo had to abide by the agreement that was decided between UNO on one side and England and France together, on the other. Togo Parliament is the most important wing of the Togo government.
Togo Parliament History
According to the above mentioned agreement, France was supposed to establish the Togo Parliament in the country as a proper democratic body, which would aim for the betterment of the general public. The Togo Parliament would stand for the people and achieve the best administration in keeping with the regional as well as the national interests of the citizens. The foremost Togo Parliament came into existence in 1946, which was composed of only 30 persons in total out of which 24 were from Togo and 6 were French.
Togo Parliament Functions
The functions of Togo Parliament are diverse and it can supervise all the decisions taken for the governance of the country. Whenever there is a problem regarding the administration, the Togo Parliament can raise vital questions.
The Togo Parliament also has a standing committee, which has good control over the delegates of the Parliament.
