South America

The continent of South America encompasses total area of 6,882,000 sq mi. South America shares its borders with the Atlantic Ocean on the eastern side, the Pacific Ocean on the western side and the Caribbean Sea on the northern side. The Isthmus of Panama joins the two continents of South America and North America.
