Slovakia Elections is done on the national level and it elects the President as head of the state and also a legislature. The President is elected for 5 year term by the people. The national council consists of 150 members who are elected for four year terms. There is amulti party system in Slovakia.

Slovakia elections include the Slovak parliamentary election of 2006 and it occurred on June 17th, 2006. During the
Slovakia elections the voters selected about 150 representatives for the National council of Slovak Republic. The maximum number of seats was 50, and it was won by the left wing party known as Direction - Social democracy. All total six parties have achieved 5 percent mark required to secure seats in the National Council.
The Presidential
Elections of Slovakia was held on April 3, 2006 and also in April 17th 2004. The first round of this Slovakia election was led by the former Prime Minister “Vladimir Meciar” and he had eleven members under his team including his previous ally “Gasparovic”. Finally in the second round Meciar was defeated by Gasparovic.
