The region of
Eastern Europe is composed of a number of countries mostly small in area. The history of the countries in east Europe is very rich and varied. There is a common controversy among scholars about the exact
location of Eastern Europe, from where it starts and where it would end. But commonly the countries like Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Austria, Republic of Moldova and Bulgaria as the east European countries.
History of Eastern Europe:
The
history of East Europe is the most fascinating one and very rich. The most notable period of this region’s history began from the 1st century BC and even at the end of the 20th century the political scenario made eastern Europe a part of the world news for a significant time period. From Huns to Romans, from Goths to Slavs all has attempted to rule over this part of the world. Germany under Hitler brought east Europe under his control for a small time period. After the defeat of Hitler it was Soviet Russia who gained control and consolidated the whole area under one rule and one ideology which was communism. There was a great division from the western world during this phase of cold war.
