In the History of Seychelles, the first President was James Mancham, after whom came Albert Rene. Rene brought quite some changes in the Seychelles society and established Presidential Government by 1979. Even the economy of the islands was developed immensely under his rule. He maintained healthy relation with the west, which was definitely beneficial for Seychelles.

History about Seychelles gives a great importance to the French colonization. The British and the French were both interested in gaining power over Seychelles, due to the beauty of the islands. The geographic location definitely made Seychelles very attractive among the tourists. Thus great economy was generated from tourism.

Seychelles History had the culture of slaves till 1938, after which it was banned. It was also a hiding place for the pirates till the 1730s. This is how the French entered the islands. The second group of inhabitants were the British, who also had the ability to rule Seychelles for a considerable long period of time
