One of the famous sports of Pakistan is Cricket. Cricket in Pakistan is played in almost every nook and corner of the country. Pakistan has produced some of the world famous bowlers and batsmen like Javed Miadad, Inzamam ul Hawk, Wasim Akram and Imran Khan. The official cricket organization of the country is the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The Pakistan cricket team represents the country in the international cricketing events. The National Cricket Team is the permanent member of the International Cricket council (ICC). The national cricket team participates in both one-day and test matches. In 1992, the Pakistan Cricket team has also won the World Cup under the captainship of Imran Khan.
The first international tournament played by the cricket team was in 1954 in England. In the 1999, Pakistan became the runners up in the World Cup 1999. Pakistan started to play test cricket after it came into existence on 28th July 1952. In 1952 they played their first match against India. Now Pakistan team is one of the best cricket teams with quality batsmen and bowlers.
Pakistan has an immense craze for cricket. Young boys playing on the roads or nearby parks are often a common scene. As a South Asian Cricket team (besides India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) Pakistan’s ratings has always been on a higher scale.
