Nigerian villages are present throughout the length and breadth of the country of Nigeria. The Nigerian villages are an integral part of Nigeria, because of the large rural population of the country. However, most of the villages of Nigeria are being made subject to constant development. The government of Nigeria is trying to implement policies and measures in order to better the conditions of these villages. Villages in Nigeria are governed by the various local governments of Nigeria, and the village councils formed of revered members of the village sought out matters of public importance.
Main Features of Nigeria Villages
Eziama is one of the most civilized villages in the southern part of Nigeria and is located in Owerri. The village is surrounded by lush green vegetation, and palm trees are a common sight in this village within Nigeria. There are other villages such as the SOS village for children where proper education and nourishment are provided by the government of Lagos. The village committee head is Mrs. Awoliyi who looks after the well-being of the children of this small village. Various NGOs and health organizations are continuously sending their volunteers to the various Nigerian villages in order to uplift the social conditions of the people dwelling there. A general awareness programme is carried out by these workers in order to educate the village people about various health and education-related issues. Daily vaccinations and health clinics have also been set up for their benefit.
