Determined by the geographical location of the country and the time zone under which it falls, Namibia time shows variations with respect to the different seasons. The standard time of Namibia runs 1 hour ahead of the Greenwich Mean Time. This means that Namibia time is GMT+1. During the winter season (April to September) the time of Namibia is one hour in advance of the Greenwich Mean Time and during the summer months (October to March) it is two hours in advance of the Greenwich Mean Time.
Namibia follows daylight saving time. Namibia lies on the southern part of equator and therefore the standard Namibia time is its Winter Time. The winter time in Namibia which is GMT+1 begins on the first Sunday in April and ends on the first Sunday of September. The summer time in Namibia which is GMT+2 starts from the first Sunday of September and continues till the first Sunday of April. Namibia Summer Time is also called Central African Time.
During the months of winter Namibia time is one hour less than the time of its neighboring states that are on its eastern side which are South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
