Morocco festivals are of great variety spread through the seasons and months of the calendar. Local traditions and customs coupled with orthodoxy have given birth to abundance of festivals in Morocco. Muslim calendar has no fixity. Hence, dates of festivals are not constant or specific.
The month of January celebrates New Year and one of the five secular Independence Day celebrations in Morocco. Tafraoute, Aid el-Khebir or Aid Al Adha are festivals of Morocco celebrated in February. Fatih Mouharam is a Moroccan festival celebrating the Islamic New Year in the month of March. March is a month of festivals at Morocco celebrating a number of other religious events like TId Lkbir, Aid el Arch and Ashura, the day of tithing.
May in Morocco celebrates the Rose Festival, Saint Ben Aissa and a National Feast. Id el Mouloud, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed is a day of national celebration. Festivals of Morocco in June include an Independence Day in Sidi Ifni and an annual Music Festival in Fez that has musicians from over the world.
Morocco festivals in July are Marrakesh Popular Arts Festival and Celebration of the Throne. August is the month for celebrating Asilah Arts Festival, Settie Fatma, Fantasia Festival and Celebration of the Young. Morocco festivals of September include the Imilchil Brides' Fair and Marrakech Folk Music Festival.
Date festival is held in October. Ramadan, Eid al Fitr and another secular Independence Day are Morocco festivals of the month of November. December 31 is celebrated as Hajj Day in Morocco.
