The Morocco Transportation System plays a key role in easy and smooth transportation of people, goods and services. Due to great advancement in the field of science and technology, the Morocco Transportation System has developed by leaps and bounds to make the journey of the people much more comfortable and easy. In the year 2002 the total number of roadways extends up to 57,847 kilometers.
Out of this 30,254 kilometers of the roadways were paved. In the year 2000 the total number of commercial vehicles was 249,617 and that of passenger cars was 354,818. The rail transportation system of the country of Morocco is directly controlled by the National Railroad Office. 1907 kilometers of the railroad is regarded as the standard gauge railways.
The railway lines connect places like Oujda, Fes, Meknes, Tangier, Sidi Kacem, Marrakech, Casablanca and Rabat. Regarding the air transportation, Morocco is not far behind. This country consists of eight international airports at Agadir, Fes, Oujda, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, Casablanca and Al-Hocemia.
The Royal Air Maroc offer international flights to Europe, Latin America and Middle East. It was founded in the year 1953 and is controlled by the government. The domestic flights are served by the Royal Air Inter. The total number of passengers that were carried by both the domestic and the international numbered 3,680,700 in the year 2001.
