The Bulgarians are present as well in a small group of 1.7%. The rural areas are densely populated and around 45% of them reside in the cities and towns. The hallmark of the Moldavian population is that they boast of a literacy rate of 99.3%.

Religion of Moldova

Moldova mainly recognizes two religions namely, Christianity and Judaism. The Christian populace follows the Russian Orthodox Church. The country is home to 36 monasteries, 1034 churches and 7 hermitages. The Republic of Moldova propagates freedom in religion. Each person is entitled to follow and propagate his or her own religious belief without hurting any other community's beliefs.

Moldavian Cuisine

Moldavian cuisine is a blend of the culinary habits of different countries like Ukraine, Russia and Bulgaria. They also cook delicious dishes of chicken and ram soup. Wine is also an important part of the food. Two of the most famous dishes of the Moldavians are 'tochitura' and 'mamaliga'.
