Malaria happens to be a major problem in Malawi that has led to widespread mortality and morbidity. People in Malawi are at a very high risk of suffering from Malaria and therefore the WHO Malawi office has taken up certain preventive measures to check the spread of malaria in Malawi.
WHO Malawi office has made the use of DDT in checking the spread of malaria and believes that the lives of as many as 500 million people in Malawi has been saved in the last 70 years through such a use. Also, WHO has added that there is the absence of any adverse effects of the use of DDT as an insecticide residual spray. As such, there has been the growth of strong opinions in favor of the use of DDT in Malawi to check the spread of Malaria.
