Kenya has attracted writers and novelists from all over the world. Books about Kenya give a vivid picture of the land, the people, the history, the geography, the culture, the wildlife etc of the country. Covering a panoramic range of subjects, books about Kenya highlight the different aspects of life in this East African nation. From remarkable landscapes to varied wildlife to the natives—books on Kenya have captured all these giving interesting accounts about this country.

An intriguing book about Kenya is “The Quest for Prosperity” by Norman N. Miller. Kenya cannot be pushed aside with indifference. Either it is loved for its aggressive and adventurous lifestyle or it is maligned as a follower of western imperialism. Miller shows a deep fondness for the country but like a good friend he criticizes it when necessary. According to him one of the main reasons why Kenya is not truly understood in the west is because though many westerners appreciate the dazzling beauty of its natural landscape and urban structure of its capital city, they fail to absorb the dynamism of its society.

In recent times some outstanding books have been written on Kenya but they mostly address a small group of audience. Another book about Kenya is “Mission”, a novel set in Kenya by Philip Spires. The story carries the concept of identity envisaging the poverty, politics, religion and justice of Kenya.
